How to lose 10 pounds fast
In order to lose 10 pounds fast, you must have a plan. Wishful thinking and hoping to lose weight will not get you there. To do it right, here are a few tips that can help you kick start your metabolism and ignite your weight loss. Remember, it is best to target 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week and always consult your physician if you have any health problem prior to starting a program like this.
- Eat Whole Foods and AVOID all Processed Foods. Since whole foods like veggies are extremely filling and low in calories, make these the center of your diet. Add in protein from leafy greens and beans to give you the protein your body needs.
- Reduce Caloric Intake. To lose one pound we must burn or not consume 3500 calories. This is best accomplished by cutting out calories that we drink (soda, sports drinks, etc). Be sure to also not snack between meals (keep veggies on hand in you feel the need to break this) and watch out for condiment use, as this can add extra calories without making you feel full (ketchup is often times loaded with sugar, try mustard instead. It’s low in calories)
- Avoid Carbs. At least while you’re trying to lose the initial weight. Look for alternatives like noodles made or veggies or pizza crust made from cauliflower to aid with this. Get creative and you may just find that you love your new choices.
- Stay Active. Look for ways to help burn calories. Take the stairs vs use the elevator, walk or bike to work or try to add in 20-30 min of cardio (brisk walking or jogging) in to help boost your metabolism
Keep your goal in mind at all times. Write down the weight you want to be at and track your progress. Reward yourself when you hit your target and keep it fun. Often times remembering why we want to do something is the greatest motivator of all.
